Obama Loses Kentucky, Wins Oregon, Guarantees Delegate Majority
By Bloggaman | May 21, 2008
Last night Barack Obama didn’t have the greatest news when he lost Kentucky to Hillary Clinton. He ended up getting enough pledged delegates to give him the majority regardless of how things finish in the next couple weeks.
Clinton won Kentucky with 65% of the vote to Obama’s 30% and she earned 37 delegates to 14 for Obama. It was a big win for Clinton but it didn’t make a difference in the overall race because Obama still owns a commanding lead and is even closer to the finish line.
It looks like Obama is headed towards a big win in Oregon. Obama should inch even closer to the 2026 delegates he needs to capture the nomination. With nothing really changing last night the number of superdelegates backing Obama should increase in the
coming days.
Are you getting tired of hearing about Clinton and Obama anymore? I sure am. It is time to focus on Obama-McCain. Clinton says she will fight on but why is she? She knows she is done. Her backers know she is done. Even the voters in Kentucky know she is done. I just don’t understand why she is fighting on. Does she want to be given the VP spot? That is my guess anyway. She can’t win the nomination but she won’t go away.
I think there is a point you have to admit your losses and just give up the fight. Clinton is long past that point. If it isn’t over in her eyes now I am not sure she will ever be done. Will she come back in November as an Independent? I wouldn’t put it past her, especially if she doesn’t get the VP spot.
McCain is coming after Obama. Obama is going after McCain. They both know Clinton isn’t a factor. I think most of us know too. No matter what happens after today, it is Obama vs. McCain for the high post. It is reality time. Do you want Obama or McCain? I think you all know who I want. I think he is the best person for the job and has the charisma we need. Good luck Senator Obama. It is time to win it all and provide the change we all need.
