Conspiracy Theories - True or Not?

    By Bloggaman | June 9, 2008

I think I have heard most of the good conspiracy theories that are out of late there have been newer ones and I can’t say for sure if they are true or not. I think this is a great subject and i will let you share your thoughts on the subject. Before I get to the new conspiracy theories I will cover some of the classics.

JFK Assassination - This has to be the most well know conspiracy theory out there today. Was it Lee Harvey Oswald as the lone gunman or were there three gunmen with the fatal shot coming from the grassy knoll? I have seen ever TV show on the subject and you watch one and get one idea and then watch another show and get a conflicting idea. At this point I think it was Oswald and I will leave it at that.

    Deely Plaza

RFK Assassination - I have heard that there could have been a second gunman or that the CIA was involved. I can’t see this as realistic and feel this is unbelievable.

No trip to the moon - I guess we haven’t been to the moon. Instead the moon landings that some of you may have seen on TV back in the late 60’s was nothing more than a staged scene at a Hollywood sound stage. They had a TV show that discussed how it was impossible that we actually landed on the moon. It was very interesting and quite compelling but I still find this hard to believe.

Missile hit the Pentagon on 9/11 - This is actually one of the most preposterous theories I have heard about. Instead of a plane hitting the Pentagon, it was a missile that hit it. If that is the case, where is the plane that went down and where are all the people that were on the plane? This would be one of the largest conspiracies out there.

Explosives brought down World Trade Center - Another crazy idea. It wasn’t the planes that brought down the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, it was explosives that were planted by the government, much like are used to implode buildings. If this is the case, that means the US Government was in on the 9/11 terrorist attacks? The US Government is working with Osama Bin Laden? OK, say this is all true. Why would they do this? Does anyone have an idea why?

We have a cure for Cancer but won’t share it - This is a rather new conspiracy theory. There is a cure for cancer out there but we can’t use it. I can understand this theory to a degree but at the same time it doesn’t make total sense. If there is a cure for cancer would it hurt our economy? Would a cancer cure affect the insurance industry? It would certainly affect the pharmaceutical industry and with that I could see where the conspiracies come in. The pharmaceutical companies do some crazy things to keep the money coming to them so why wouldn’t they hide a cure for cancer?

We have a way to increase gas mileage but won’t share it - This is another theory I have heard lately. Is it true? I don’t know. If it were undoubtedly true it wouldn’t be a theory. I have heard two different pieces to this. One theory I have heard is that the GM EV1 was discontinued because the batteries they used were TOO good and so all vehicles were recalled and destroyed. I am not sure if this is true. If anyone has any insight into this I would love to hear about it.

Another theory I hear regarding improved gas mileage is that whenever there is a new technology released, Exxon buys the patent and goes no further with it. Again, I have no idea if this is true but obviously Exxon is the company making the big money with high gas prices so why not go after them. I did some searches but found nothing. If you look at the US Patent office you don’t see a lot of late that makes you think this is true. If it is a theory you don’t need to have proof. If something thinks it is true they must know something. Does anyone know of anything that would prove this to be true?

Of all the conspiracy theories I think the one about hiding technology that would help gas mileage is the easiest to believe. Gas is high right now, Exxon is making billions and that makes it easy for this type of theory to come out. If anyone has anything to share on any of these please feel free to comment. I would love to hear what others think on this subject and any other theories that are out there.
